Healthy Breadcrumbs Recipe

How to make breadcrumbs..


Ingredients Required:

  • White or Brown bread

Equipment required:

  • An oven or a toaster (if making dry breadcrumbs)
  • Food processor or a grater

 Method:

1. Fresh breadcrumbs


Place the bread into a processor and blitz into fine fresh breadcrumbs. You could also try grating the bread to make fine breadcrumbs if you don't have a food processor. You can also remove the sides, if desired. you can freeze the bread for 1 hour before grating.



2. Dried breadcrumbs:

Toast the bread slices in the toaster or put them in the oven to 150 degree C/300 degree F for 10 - 12 minutes and blitz them in the food processor. You can adjust the coarseness by reducing/increasing the processing time.

3. Knife method

If you don't own a food processor, you can alternatively use a bread knife to make breadcrumbs. Just remove the sides and cut the bread into small crumbs. If bread is too soft, you can freeze it or just let it sit on the counter for sometime and it will be good to go...

To make seasoned breadcrumbs, you can add any seasoning (salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan Cheese, etc...) 


Usage:

You can use breadcrumbs in a lot of ways. Some recipes include:
  • Coated potato fries
  • Fried chicken
  • Burger patty binder
  • Mac and Cheese topping
  • Fried Ravioli etc..
